Waste Veggie Oil Fuel Technology: From French Fries to Fuel
*NOTE: The day and time for this course will be decided based on student availability.* What's that?...used veggie oil into fuel? Students will participate hands-on in converting used cooking oil from Runk Dining Hall into usable engine fuel and in converting a diesel vehicle to run on waste veggie oils. We will also develop a monitoring system for checking the performance of the vehicle and the oil quality. Along with an overview of this emerging waste vegetable oil (WVO) technology, students will learn how bio-diesel fuels are made and used to power the university's fleet of buses.
