Underground Hip-Hop
Hip Hop is not all bling and bombast. There are a number of outsiders who have mastered the genre and are speaking truths from that outsider perspective. Their poetry warrants study, and the students who voraciously consume that poetry are hungry to apply their analytic skills to this important artistic outpouring. Students will select two Underground Hip-Hop songs to analyze deeply. By sharing their analysis with each other, they will then develop a shared appreciation of Underground Hip-Hop.
