Principal's Family
David Oakland

Nancy's husband David Oakland, also a graduate of University of Virginia (B.S. Architecture 1976 and Master of Architecture 1978), is one of the founding principals of VMDO Architects, a Charlottesville firm whose projects include many familiar university projects including the recent Wilsdorf Hall, JPJ Arena, the Carl Smith Stadium, and Hereford College. In addition to loving travel, hiking, and reading, David would relish any interests in the community for a round of golf or a sailing excursion.
Hannah Takahashi Oakland
Hannah, a 2007 Yale graduate (religious studies major/Trumbull College), grew up in Charlottesville but currently resides in New York City where she interns for the Medicare Rights Center a a national, not-for-profit consumer service organization that helps older adults understand their Medicare rights and benefits. She is an active sailor and runner.
Milo Mason Oakland
Milo is a third-year politics major at UVA. Outside of classes, he continues his life-long, left-footed, mid-fielder soccer career as the assistant varsity soccer coach for the Western Albemarle High School squad, where he played for four years. Milo is also a talented musician who enjoys playing piano.
Noah Oakland
Noah, a current eighth grader at Tandem Friends School in Charlottesville can be seen around Hereford shooting hoops at Upper Vaughan and developing his budding lacrosse talents.
Emert Oakland
Lastly, weighing in at 100 pounds is Emert, the family's slobbering and exuberant, but very sweet yellow Lab, who would enjoy a walk, run (or biscuit) anytime of the day.
